Duke University was established in 1838 A.D. The former names of the University were Brown School, Union Institute, Normal College, and Trinity College. It is a private university established with a motto “Eruditio et Religio”. $4.5 billion of the endowment is provided by the University. The main campus of the University was designed by Julian Abele. Duke University runs under the president Richard H. Brodhead. Duke is located in a place called Durham in North Caroline in United States of America. It covers 8,470 acres of the land. The color of the University is duke blue and white. The nickname for duke University is the blue devils. Duke University took part in NCAA division- I in the year 1991, 1992, 2001 and 2010. It has 26 teams in various sports.This University has an academic staff of 3,626 people and administrative staff of 43,790 people. Duke has 14600 students where 6,495 are undergraduates and 8,105 are graduate students. Duke University has its affiliation with AAU, COFHE, and 568 groups, URA, CDIO, ORAU and NAICO with a primary affiliation with Harvard University, Stanford University and UC Berkeley. Duke University is one of the popular Universities for its basketball team. The University was selected as best universities.

The Duke University has 30% of the undergraduate men and 40% of the undergraduate Women who are the members of fraternities and sonorities. According to the rule of the residential hall the first 3 year of the student from undergraduate program have to stay inside the campus. With the luxury of 14 residences hall students do not have any problems for the rooms and other stuffs in the campus. Duke University provides a different level of education system along with the skill of different sports and athletic programs. Duke University has 15 teams in the national championship. It’s more like an athletic school every student would desire to be in. Duke University was established with an aim to provide a quality education to the students who come there, but with the small aim this University is so much successful now that it has become one of the best Universities in North Carolina.
